Oxford

Our Oxford friary serves the parish of St Edmund and St Frideswide, just off the Iffley Road, as well as St Gregory’s Primary School. There were Franciscans on the site at Greyfriars, where the current friary is situated from 1224, and it was part of the University of Oxford until recent years. Situated in one of the more diverse, but also socially deprived areas of Oxford, the community serve and minister to those from a wide range of backgrounds who live locally.

Chester

Our friary in Chester is situated in the city centre and serves the local parish of St Francis of Assisi. Amongst other ministries, service to the Polish community is a particular characteristic of our work in Chester.

Capuchins around the world

Throughout the world around eleven thousand friars follow in the footsteps of St Francis in the Order of Franciscan Friars Minor Capuchin, across over 100 countries. Our Curia is based in Rome, where the General Minister and his Council oversee the work of the Provinces. The Order is divided into 146 Provinces of which Great Britain is one.
