General Curia

As an international Order, the Capuchins have many international obligations. This work is co-ordinated by the Brother General and his Definition – eight men of different language groups chosen by the elected worldwide fraternity to serve the friars in their life and work. They live together in Rome for part of each year and then go out to their own language group to further the life and work of the Order.

These in turn are helped by a group of chosen men, skilled in languages and other social gifts, to enable the friars worldwide to communicate with each other and to serve the people in their care with the utmost mutual support.

The General Curia is based in Rome.
